# Maria in the Resurrection of the Lord## The Joy from Christ’s ResurrectionThe theme is one of joy that springs forth from Christ’s resurrection: every aspect celebrated in this mystery highlights this dimension in various ways. “Rejoice in the Resurrection” gives definitive form to the “Rejoice” (Kaire) of Christ’s conception. The readings narrate the joyful announcement of the resurrection (Mt 28:1-10), which will find its ultimate realization in the “New Jerusalem” (Rev 21:1-5). In the meantime, the Virgin is admired as “the city of God where justice dwells”: after enduring the pains of her Son to the cross, she now rejoices with perfect serenity. From this perspective, the Church, gathered in joyful memory of the Virgin, remembers the resurrection of her Son who restored joy to all creation, filled the heart of Her Mother with ineffable joy, allowed the nascent Church to behold her Lord with trembling exultation, and now guides her faithful into possession of eternal joy. This is a joy that arises from the paschal mystery and expands over three moments.**First, in Mary**, who after sharing the immense pain of Her Son when “the spotless Lamb on the cross offered Himself for us,” was filled with **”ineffable joy”** at Christ’s resurrection. Thus, the Church sings: “Rejoice, Virgin Mother,” and greets her as **”Mother of Light.”**## Second in the ChurchIn the nascent Church, first and foremost, which **contemplated with eager exultation the glorious face of its immortal Lord**, and secondly, in the Church of every time and place, strengthened by its own **faith in Mary**, it can be guided **to the possession of eternal joy** to **enjoy the joy of life without end**.## Third Throughout the WorldWhich, entrusted to the **diligent hands** of humanity and destined for final transfiguration, **in the glorious resurrection of the Son**, was flooded **with a joyful light**.The exemplary nature of Virgin Mary is also celebrated in three main areas.## Christ’s Resurrection: A Marvelously Exalted Faith of MaryBecause she believed and conceived, and because she then believed, she awaited the resurrection. The life of the Church, called to generate Christ in the hearts of believers, must be modeled on this same dimension, hoping for **the radiant day when, once the darkness of death has disappeared**, Christ’s redemption will have reached all creation.## Mary’s Courageous Attitude in Await of Paschal VictoryHer attitude in bravely awaiting Easter victory becomes an example for the Church of all times and places. Therefore, the faithful, participating in the memorial celebration of Easter, pray: **to confirm in us the gift of true faith**, so that they can carry out the mystery of Easter in life and in created realities.## The Church’s Invitation to Mary: “Rejoice” (laetare)Is the same invitation repeated to the Christian community throughout its journey: as Mary, the Church also rejoices in the faith life of its children who recognize in Christ **God made man**, **the Son of the Virgin**, and invoke **the power of his resurrection** to be guided **to the possession of eternal joy**.The joy of Mary at the Resurrection is emphasized by Pope Paul VI in his Apostolic Exhortation
Marialis Cultus, which presents Mary as a model of paschal faith and hope for the whole Church.## Deepen Your Studies:Explore **Mariology**, **Marian Theology**, **Marian Apparitions**, and **Post-Graduate Studies in Mariology**.
